Site Pads
PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY SITE PADS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES IN HOUSTON AND SURROUNDING CITIES.
The first and most important step in constructing a site pad is laying a solid foundation. The phrase “founded upon a rock” sums up how important this step is to the overall structural integrity of the site pad which directly affects the buildings longevity. In other words, to ensure your building will withstand the test of time, it must be built on a solid foundation that meets all specifications.
Another phrase, which is appropriate here is, “As strong as your weakest link.” Adhering to the specifications outlined by the Architect, structural Engineers and/or Geo Technicians will guarantee that your building will be anchored to a structurally sound base which adds real value to your investment. The money spent here to ensure a quality product will save you thousands in the long run.

Retention/Detention Ponds
Retention and Detention ponds are the most common solution to managing and controlling storm water runoff in developing areas where significant construction has replaced the absorbable ground surface with concrete, asphalt and other impermeable surfaces. In basic terms, the less ground area there is for water absorption, the more prone that area is to flooding. The decision to install either a retention or detention pond is determined on how the water is to be distributed, once it has collected in the pond. If the run-off water is allowed to remain in the pond for evaporation or as part of the landscaping, then a retention pond with proper overflow provisions, is designed. When the collected run-off water needs to be re-directed into the current drainage systems as soon as possible, then a detention pond is installed as just a temporary holding tank. The excess water will remain in the pond until it can flow through the designated areas, into the drainage ditches, canals and bayous without causing an overflow problem.
Right-of-way
Rights-of-Way Vegetation Control – Utilizes both mechanical and chemical methods of application on utility and pipeline easements that have either potential or existing problems caused by unwanted trees, brush, weeds and/or grasses.
Mechanical Maintenance – Utilizes a variety of equipment to cut, clear, and remove unwanted vegetation with specified easements, including brush hog type tractors and mowers, articulated slope mowers, marsh-masters with attached mowing decks, tracked equipment with hydro-axe and grapple attachments. We use the most state of the art equipment including Fecon, Takeuchi, Jarraff, New Holland, Polaris, etc.

Hydromulching
When the objective is to keep as many trees as possible, the preferred method of land clearing is called hydro-ax or forestry mulching. This option will open up a densely overgrown area for proper assessment. Property owners, Surveyors and others will be able to accurately evaluate the topography of the property and make informed decisions related to future development plans, without having to remove valuable trees.
A forestry mulching machine incorporates a rotary drum equipped with steel teeth used to shred the vegetation. There are several types of mulchers, like that of the Fecon. This is a mulching attachment placed on an excavator, used to go over fence lines while clearing roadside brush from the streets. However, the most common mulching machine usually includes a mulching head attachment manufactured to fit a specific tracked or rubber-tired tractor or skid steer. We own and operate a 2015 Bobcat T870 skid steer with a Fecon mulching attachment. The compact size of this pairing and its ability to maneuver around obstacles with a near zero turning radius, makes it the perfect solution for our customers. In fact, the mulch produced by this method of clearing, provides an environmentally safe additive which enriches the soils, helps prevent soil erosion and recycles the debris, eliminating the need for costly containers used in debris removal.
Rough/Final Grading
There are two primary reasons for land grading. First and foremost is proper water drainage. Land grading allows you to use gravity to your advantage, directing all rainfall and stormwater runoff to a low-lying, out-of-the-way location, preferably one that connects to a pond or county drain. Grading for proper water drainage not only prevents floods from occurring in your home, garage or barn, but also promotes the health of any gardens, orchards or pastures. Land grading is also important on roadways and driveways in order to prevent water from collecting on them and causing vehicles to slide.
The second common reason to adjust the slope of the land is for erosion control. Erosion control means stabilizing the land to stop the topsoil—and all of the nutrients contained within—from slipping away. Specifically, land grading stabilizes the land by reducing the slope, thus reducing the runoff velocity. Slower-moving water is less powerful and less likely to strip the soil so easily. Finally, the topography of the land can be changed to direct traffic around your property. People, and even cattle, are more likely to avoid steep inclines and undulating hills, instead seeking out gentle slopes or flat areas. Land grading can keep the more delicate areas of your property more or less free from foot traffic. This is a less common reason for land grading but is nonetheless useful. Land grading is most commonly done when preparing a construction site. Before the major work begins, the land is cleared and the building site is leveled. In some cases, a raised building pad is also created. On all sides of the building site, the slope of the land is adjusted so that it decreases away from the construction. For buildings erected on hillsides, land grading might involve creating a berm that stops water before it reaches the building, then guides it around and away from the site. Land grading is also useful when creating a pond. Ponds are constructed not only by digging down into the soil, but also by building up the area around the pond. Typically part of the pond receives rainwater runoff, so the surrounding land has to be shaped in such a way that the water flows to the pond.

Roads/Driveways/Culverts
The basic function of a road and/or driveway, is to provide easy access to your property. This same basic function is necessary for any construction site. Whether your property is in an established neighborhood or in the country, the planning and installation of a construction entrance or driveway, assists with:
• The procurement and distribution of all materials, equipment, and resources required to effectively maximize productivity on the job site.• Reducing the amount of mud and other debris tracked out or left on the main streets by trucks exiting the construction site, or equipment and resources directly related to the construction process. • Keep weather delays to a minimum; allowing equipment, delivery trucks and other vehicles to keep on schedule without the fear of getting stuck or limited mobility.• Accessibility to any specific area, within the project site, that may require attention.
These entrances generally consist of a clay base with a crushed aggregate spread across the top for stability and traction. Once all construction is completed, these entrances can either be used as a base for your permanent finished driveway or can be removed to accommodate alternative design plans. Whether your construction entrance is temporary or the basic outline of a finished drive, this step is one of the first priorities necessary when starting any project.

Demolitions
Residential demolition is the task of dismantling and removing all materials that once were used in the construction of an existing inhabitable structure. Usually, the main objective for the residential demolition request of a structure, is to restore the property to its pre-construction condition. This allows the property to become a “blank canvas” for future development opportunities. To achieve this goal, several factors need to be considered which include ordinances/regulations that are attached to the property as well as the location of the structure on the property, accessibility, and magnitude of the project to name a few. It is important to remember that most structures have a designed lifespan and are built to withstand the elements. Residential demolition goes against that concept and incorporates whatever means necessary to destroy a structure that was built to endure. In other words, this is not a weekend DIY project but a specialized job that should be completed by a professional like Rosales Land Clearing.
Stump Grinding
Stumps left after a tree has been removed often need to be removed. They can be frustrating eyesores, especially if they are attached to any running roots stretching throughout your landscape. Stump removal also reduces insect activity, mitigates new and unwanted growth, and provides room for future landscaping. If you have an unsightly stump on your property let us know, we are happy to help. Stump grinding is the most effective way to finish the tree removal process. Our trained team members are able to safely maneuver our top of the line equipment to effectively remove your stump and exposed roots. Please note, however, that once a stump is removed you won’t be able to plant another tree in that same spot again. The wheel is serrated and fitted with metal teeth that spin and work from the top of the stump drilling down to 4-6″ below grade. When the machine has finished grinding, you will be left with a mulch pile where there once was a stump. This mulch pile is often 20-30% larger than the pre-existing stump. This mulch can be left on site to backfill the depression left from the stump removal.Any excess mulch can be used in surrounding landscaping, or if you’d prefer we can haul it away for an additional fee.
